🛡️ Summary: Brainwave and its games (including Mental Maths, Memory Trail, Memory Matrix, LearnFlags, Tower of Hanoi, and Maze Runner) are offline-first, educational cognitive applications. We do not collect, track, store on remote servers, sell, or share any of your personal data.
1. Information Collection and Use
We believe your personal data belongs to you. When you use the getbrainwave.app web applications or our mobile applications (including Mental Maths):
No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, email address, phone number, physical address, contacts, photos, or biometric data.
No User Account Required: You can use all features of the applications without registering or logging in.
Local Storage Only: All your math and game progress (e.g., daily practice points, streaks, high scores) and user preferences (e.g., selected operators, digit limits, themes, sound, and flash speed settings) are saved solely on your local device via browser local storage. This information is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers.
2. Device Permissions
Our applications only request minimal permissions required for standard functionality:
Internet Access: Used to load web font stylesheets, static assets, and transmit anonymous, aggregated gameplay performance and diagnostic metrics. No personal identifiable information (PII) is transmitted over the internet.
Haptic Feedback / Vibration: Used exclusively to provide optional tactile feedback on key presses and correct/incorrect answers during gameplay.
3. Third-Party Services and Analytics
To provide a distraction-free, privacy-first, and safe learning environment:
No Advertising: Our applications do not contain advertisements and do not integrate third-party ad networks (such as Google AdMob).
Cookieless Website Analytics (getbrainwave.app): We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure high-level website traffic metrics (such as page views and general visitor count). It operates completely without cookies, does not collect personal identifiable information (PII), does not track users across sites, and does not perform device fingerprinting. No consent banner is required under GDPR or ePrivacy directives.
Application Analytics & Diagnostics (Mental Maths): We use Google Analytics via Firebase to collect anonymous, aggregated diagnostic metrics (such as practice session completion, game mode usage, and app stability) to improve game performance. No personal identifiable information (PII) is collected or shared.
Advertising IDs Disabled: Mobile advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID / Apple IDFA) and personalized ad tracking are permanently disabled in our mobile apps to safeguard user privacy.
Web Fonts: The apps reference standard font CDNs for typography rendering. Standard CDN asset caching policies apply.
Brainwave and its games are designed for learners of all ages, including children under the age of 13. We are fully committed to protecting children's privacy:
We do not knowingly collect, request, or solicit any personal information from children under 13 (or under the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction).
Advertising identifiers and behavioral ad tracking are strictly disabled.
We do not display targeted or behavioral advertisements.
The application complies with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the Google Play Families Policy.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Because all data generated by your gameplay is stored solely on your local device:
You retain full control over your data.
You can reset or erase all saved settings and progress at any time by clearing your browser's local storage and cache, or via your device's Settings > Apps > Mental Maths > Storage > Clear Data.
6. Security
Since we do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers, your data is not susceptible to remote server breaches. Any data on your device is protected by your operating system and browser standard application sandboxing.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted directly on this page with an updated "Effective Date". We encourage you to review this page periodically for any updates.
